Steve Trzcinski

Chair, Softball SA

Softball SA is proud to be a key partner in the new Diamond Sports SA facility at Adelaide Shores. With a total investment of $4m by the State Government, this upgrade represents the single largest investment at the site since the current facility was built in 1984 to host the ISF World Junior Championships.

Softball has been played in South Australia since 1944, and on the grounds at West Beach since 1959, and this Diamond Sports development will allow us to take the sport to a whole new level in South Australia. It represents a unique opportunity for Softball in South Australia to leverage our close ties with the Baseball community to develop a truly world-class facility that will attract high quality competition to our state, and provide opportunities to develop both our sports from grass roots through to international standard competition.

The creation of Diamond Sports SA, will allow us to concentrate on growing participation in our sport, whilst accessing state of the art, playing fields and training facilities. The new administration offices will allow us to improve our efficiencies, and enable us to explore and develop more commercial opportunities for our existing members, as we build closer ties with Baseball and other key commercial partners.

Softball and Baseball sporting communities have a long history of working collaboratively together in South Australia. The Diamond Sports facility at Adelaide Shores represents a tangible extension of that cooperation, and will allow us both to meet our goals to provide the best possible opportunities for our members and friends.
